Agnone (IS), February 2016, Sant’Onofrio. Angiolino del Papa inside his house with deer’s horns in his hands. He found the horns in the woods during the long hours spent on the grazing land with cattle in summer.

Agnone (IS), December 2016. Two old men help a young carrier at the moment of the lighting of the Ndocce. This tradition dates back to ancient romans’ time and belongs to the ancient population of the Sanniti, which usually used them for mobing around at night. This tradition was preserved till today thanks to peasants, who used the Ndocce to
light up the way from the village to the churches in the countryside on Christmas Eve.
